Wicker Vineyards Awarded Medals At Prestigious San Francisco International Wine Competition
Since its introduction in 1980, the SanFrancisco International Wine Competition has set the standard for professional wine judging. Now in its 37th year, the SFIWC is one of the world’s longest-running international wine competitions. SFIWC medallions have become reliable indicators of wine excellence across the globe. The 2017 SFIWC reviewed over 4,000 wines from 30 countries around the world.
Wines awarded a Gold medal are exceptional. Near the pinnacle of achievement in their class, these wines set the standard for all others of their type. The Wicker Vineyards 2008 Cabernet was awarded 91 points and a GOLD medal at the 2017 Competition. This rich and luxurious wine continues a line of exceptional vintages, and sets the standard for those to follow. Only 186 cases were bottled.
Wines awarded a Silver medal are outstanding. Showing refinement, finesse, and complexity, these wines are among the best examples of their class. The Wicker Vineyards2013 Chardonnay was awarded a Silver medal at the 2017 Competition. This Burgundy style Chardonnay is lively and crisp, with a rich mid-palate and clean, bright finish. Only 275 cases were bottled.
