Martini
House -- "Battle
of the Vines" SEASON 3 RED WINE CHAMPIONS
CROWNED!!
After "manhandling all of its
competitors in impressive style", Wicker Vineyards was crowned the Season
3 Red Wine Champion.
Martini House Wine Director, Rob Renteria contacted Ron on the last day
of competition to request the delivery of yet another case of the 2003
Cabernet, the seventh in three weeks, because they had once again poured
themselves out of wine, racking up some pretty impressive by-the-glass sales
numbers for the tiny winery. For now, Martini House will continue to
pour the 2003 by the glass, while keeping the 2001 and 2002 Cabernet
available on the bottle list.

The third year of
Martini House's
Battle of the Vines
is a head-to-head competition between two local wines to determine who
continues to be poured by the glass. Each week the wine with the most
'sales units' continues on into the following week to take on a new
challenger. Now in our third week as DEFENDING CHAMPIONS, WICKER
VINEYARDS Cabernet faces the overall champion from Season One, Terra
Valentine Vineyards.
Who would have guessed two weeks ago
that we would have defeated Jayson (Pahlmeyer) and Plumpjack's
CADE and be moving into our third week as the defending champion?
Stop by Martini House in St. Helena
any time this week to enjoy a glass of our silky, juicy 2003 Cabernet and
help out the underdog against another of the Elite wineries of Napa Valley.
We get one point for every glass sold, and five points for every bottle.
At the end of next Sunday, the winner goes to the following week and takes
on a new challenger. Hope to see you there.

Having rolled to a win in last weeks

Battle of the Vines against
Jayson (Pahlmeyer), we now move into Week #2 of the David vs Goliath epic as
Wicker Vineyards takes on the Plumpjack Empire's CADE Winery.

For three weeks in a row, the BV
George de Latour had been winning the weekly head-to-head challenge in the
Martini House
Battle of the
Vines. Last week, one of
Napa's elite wines, Palhmeyer 'Jayson' knocked off the George De Latour to
take top honors. Starting on Monday, June 1st, Wicker Vineyards
2003 Cabernet is stepping up to challenge the winner in a friendly (?),
anything goes competition between Jayson and Wicker. The wine
with the highest sales score at the end of the day on Sunday, June 7 will be
declared the winner and continue on to face a new challenger next week.
Stop in this week for some fun, a
sample of our luscious Cabernet from Howell Mountain and to help out
the underdog! :-)
